Student Spotlight #1!

January 29, 2008

Thanks to third-grade students Kate D. and Andrew B. for this wonderful example:

To raise money for Heart-to-Heart, Kate and Andrew started a snow-shoveling business.  They created a full-page flier and passed it out to some neighbors they already knew well.  They’ve already raised $12 for our charities, and with a big snowstorm predicted for tonight, they have hopes of getting even more customers very soon!

What a great example of working hard and coming up with a great idea to help others.  If you ask me, doing all of this makes Kate and Andrew both heroes.  Wouldn’t you agree?

Now tell your story!  Email what you’re doing for Heart-to-Heart to mpullen@egrps.org and your story might appear on this website in the near future.

I was so excited yesterday when my doorbell rang and it was Kate and Andrew with their “Snow Shovel Fairies’ flier. I can’t wait for a snow storm so I can call up Kate and Andrew for some snow shoveling.

A snow day today! Did you have a chance to drum up any business during the day off?

Let me tell how happy I was when I came home yesterday to a shoveled walk! I knew it had to have been the hard work of the Snow Shovel Fairies! I’ve paid in advance for two additional this weekend.
